Pack the Future 2026: A Thank You by the Numbers

Our Pack the Future Back to School Drive has officially wrapped, and we want to say thank you. To every partner who hosted a donation box, every member who dropped off supplies, every volunteer who packed a backpack: this drive was yours. NOMAR just held the door open.

Here’s what your generosity looked like this year:

• 27 partner locations collecting supplies
• 6 parishes represented
• 15 full boxes of supplies delivered (enough to fill a U-Haul van from the back doors to the front seat!)
• 10 volunteers pitching in
• 250 backpacks packed and ready

All of those scissors, pencils, notebooks, and backpacks will soon land in the hands of homeless and at-risk students across the Greater New Orleans region, thanks to Volunteers of America’s Operation Backpack. Each one means a kid walks into class on day one with the supplies they need, and the focus and clarity to learn and succeed.

To our partner locations: thank you for making space, spreading the word, and turning your offices into collection points. To the volunteers who spent an afternoon assembling backpacks: thank you for the sweat equity that turned donations into deliverables. And to the members and community who filled those boxes: thank you for showing up.
