let's come together to help end hunger in south louisiana.

From October 13 - November 14, we are partnering with Second Harvest once more collect donations of needed non-perishable items. Last year, NOMAR members contributed over $5,000 and 11,000 lbs to this worthy cause. Can we top those numbers this year?

FOCUSING IN ON HIGH NEED ITEMS

We are in the midst of a food shortage! To obtain most needed items for the holidays and save time on large amounts of sorting and packing, Second Harvest is requesting a focus on 1-2 specific items. Therefore, we are asking for donations of:

Canned yams

Canned green beans

But don’t worry; traditional donation items are also accepted!

DONATION GUIDELINES

Second Harvest accepts nearly all types of non-perishable food. Non-glass containers required; nutritional food items low in sodium/salt and sugar are preferred.

ADDITIONAL ITEMS ACCEPTED

Grains

Shelf-stable/dry/evaporated milk

Cooking oil

Canned/Preserved Fruits and Vegetables

Canned/Preserved Proteins


Second Harvest also accepts:

Disposable masks and hand sanitizer

Paper products

Diapers

Toiletries

Bottled water

Cleaning products

Disaster supplies

Coffee

Can I pick up a donation box for my office?

Yes! Boxes are available for pick-up from the Southshore office. Any boxes provided must be returned to the Southshore office in Metairie no later November 13 to count towards the food drive.
