The committee recognized this deal, an industrial lease in New Orleans East, for its complexity and its support of a vital state and regional economic asset: the NASA Michoud facility. The deal has already spurred considerable development activity, attracting out-of-state developers and fostering new investment in the area. In the words of a Blue Ribbon Committee member, this deal reinforces that Louisiana is “open for business” — an economic development mantra shared by both the state and the city of New Orleans. These agents demonstrated how REALTORS® play a pivotal role in creating a thriving economy.

The Deal in New Orleans East
The deal began as a straightforward two-property, 35,000-square-foot site selection in St. Rose and Slidell. Through sharp market intelligence and strategic analysis, Bryce French and Jack Sikora guided their client toward a centralized relocation to New Orleans East, ultimately securing a 162,000-square-foot, $17.4 million industrial lease within the only Class A distribution center in New Orleans, located at the historic NASA Michoud site. At $140 million, this transaction was one of the largest transactions ever submitted for these awards. Deals of this size are inherently complex, requiring the deep market expertise and trusted relationships that define success in our industry. As new projects like the Shell River District and the Tulane Downtown Campus emerge, this deal shows that institutional capital continues to see opportunity in our market. Most importantly, it signals to other developers that New Orleans is a city worth investing in.
