The NOMAR Government Affairs Department maintains a full time professional staff to aggressively insure that as REALTORS®, your voice is heard and your interests are protected. Our primary function is to monitor legislation through out seven parishes including: Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa and Washington.
By attending council, committee and task force meetings in every parish within the New Orleans Metropolitan area, we secure the opportunity to promote legislation that is helpful or oppose legislation that is harmful to the real estate industry.
As a department, we also work to ensure that the REALTOR® image is constantly viewed in a positive light. Our close partnerships with the Louisiana REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® helps to ensure that NOMAR has access to special programs, toolkits and grants that allow members to be a strong and positive image in the communities they serve.
The Government Affairs Department staff serves as liaisons to the NOMAR Government Affairs Committee, Affordable Housing Committee, NOMPAT, YPN, Managers Advisory Committee, and Charter & By-Laws Committee. We urge you to get involved and become active in a NOMAR Committee today!
