• The New Home Warranty Act (NHWA) sets out the exclusive remedies, warranties, and preemptive periods in relation to the rights of homeowners and builders in home construction projects in Louisiana, and no other provisions of law relative to warranties and redhibitory vices shall apply.
• The instructor will cover the NHWA in detail going through the history of the act, which “homes” are covered, who the “builder” and “owner” according to this document, what defects are covered, and how to make claims.
• After covering the NHWA, the instructor will go through the New Construction Addendum covering a general overview of the form and each stage of construction that the addendum covers, completed construction, under construction, and new construction or to be constructed.
Notice: Beginning Wednesday, May 1, 2024, NOMAR will revive our no-show/cancellation policy for continuing education classes. You must cancel course bookings at least 48 hours ahead of each in-person class. If you do not cancel 48 hours ahead of your scheduled in-person CE course, you will be assessed a no-show/cancellation fee of $10 per credit hour.
